Grey Squirrel
Though native to North America, grey squirrels are now a common sight across our country, where they were introduced as an ornamental species in the late 1800s. Over the last century the species has managed to take over the majority of our native red squirrel’s former range, and now serves as a stark reminder of how human actions can impact the natural world. Despite their invasive history, it’s hard not to enjoy watching these squirrels as they play, forage for food, and perform death-defying leaps!
