Bumble Bees

The pictured white-tailed bumblebee is one of 24 species of bumblebee resident in Britain. These flying fuzz balls are fun to watch as they move from flower to flower, and are (along with solitary bees) actually far more important pollinators than the more famous honey bee. Cutting out pesticides and creating habitats where these bees can thrive, such as Didsbury Park’s wildflower meadow, can help combat their ongoing decline.
